Many customers ask if a carport can be enclosed the general answer is no. Carports are engineered as an open design which means not enclosed. If you are thinking of enclosing your carport firstly the building will have to been re-engineered and mostly likely materials will have to be upgraded. Furthermore, generally carports are located within the 6m setback from the front boundary of the property and most council regulations state that if a carport is located within the 6m setback then it is to remain open.
If you are thinking of a carport then always have in the back of your mind its to remain open. If you want to enclose it then our advice is going to a shed design instead.
